To The Coast

We returned from a trip over to the Oregon coast Tuesday night.  A church we're affiliated with asked Josh to come speak at their Sunday service & they wanted him to bring his whole family.  I'm not really sure they knew what they were getting into.  It was a good excuse for us all to get away & all the kiddos to fly for the first time.
That's right, we took everyone on a plane!  We actually drove to Spokane to catch our flight.  Minor problem on the way over- all the flights got cancelled do to fog.  When all was said & done we spent 7 hours in the Spokane airport with 4 small children.  Here they are waiting endlessly for a flight.
They all did really well, & figure out ways to pass the time.
We were actually there so long that Maddie lost her first tooth.  No joke, she literally lost her first tooth in the Spokane airport.
We finally made it to Portland where our friends picked us up & immediately drove to Seaside.  We spent 2 days there in an awesome vacation home.  The kids got to go to the ocean for the first time.
It was pretty cold.
But they braved the water anyway.  Well, sort of.
They liked running from the waves.
Danica would not be outdone by her older siblings & sat down, stripped off her pants & shoes & ran fearlessly into the water.  We're gonna have to watch that girl, a broken arm at age one is no coincidence!
After our weekend at the beach we began driving down the coast to Lebanon, Oregon, our final destination.  We took a detour at the Tillamook cheese factory where we ate tons of wonderful cheese & ice cream.  Joshie also consumed a 2 foot beef jerky stick in about 4 minutes.
And of course we took pictures in the farmer & cow cutout.
The remainder of our time was spent in Lebanon with our friends & doing church stuff.  It was a fun trip & nice to get away from the continual unpacking at our house.  By the way, our flight home was super easy & fun!
